Overhaul

I joined Frizbiz six years after its launch, when the CTO role was created, to design a new B2B and B2B2C product for partners, with the technical overhaul of the existing platform as a common thread.

Key achievements

  • Built a new B2B2C product that became the company's main product 2 years later
  • Ran the full technical overhaul of the original Frizbiz marketplace as a common thread; it was later sold
  • Set up a partnership with ManoMano
  • 200% user growth
  • New microservices stack (NestJS, TypeScript, Docker, Kubernetes...) with web and mobile clients (Vue.js, Nuxt, Swift, Kotlin...)

Responsibilities

  • Structured and managed the tech and product team: hiring, training, coaching, objectives
  • Defined the technical and functional roadmap in line with the company strategy
  • Steered internal and external development, suppliers and key partners
  • Agile Scrum / Kanban project management, prioritisation and trade-offs
  • Managed the IT budget: capitalised costs, payroll, external costs, suppliers...
  • Set up reports, dashboards, analytics, KPIs and infrastructure and application monitoring tools
  • Defined the technical and application architecture: infrastructure, split, generic and abstract design of the microservices down to the data model, service communication, technology choices
  • Quality and industrialisation tools and methods: test-driven development, test coverage, code review, pair programming, continuous integration and delivery (GitLab)
  • Designed public and private APIs, managed the partners integrating the API and provided a test environment for their integrations
  • Chose the SaaS tools and external APIs used by the company (Stripe, Zendesk Support and Sell, Slack, Aircall, Twilio, SendGrid, Google APIs, Mapbox, Firebase, Zapier...)
  • Organised competitive, business and technology watch, innovation, R&D, POCs, open source contributions, workshops and demos for the whole company
